This will start off as a rave about two new delicious gifts given to me by my former editor/first boss/great friend Jenny :) Thank you, thank you! You are such a sweetheart for remembering me (and my unholy love for drugstore beauty booty!) She gave me tubes of
Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer (Karen got her own as well; mine is a yummy popping pink) and Neutrogena Lip Soother in Shine. Both have cooling properties so yes, my smile's got an extra snap and shine to it :) What great pick-me-uppers to an otherwise sleepy Wednesday morning (when the first thing that occupies your mind is, "Where's the coffee?")

Jenny was my first editor and boss when I first started working in MEGA. Through her gentle teaching I learned how to write better (and eventually Karen taught me how to say more with less words) and even the basics of copyediting (I think she was copyediting for three magazines when I came onboard!). Less
than a year after I joined, Jenny got married and moved to New York, where she's been since this June. Now she's happily pregnant with her first child and settling in Florida. When she lived in New York Karen would visit, like, EVERY YEAR. I'm so inggit! Jenny and her husband Dino would visit every other year and she'd always remember to give me pasalubong (and almost always drugstore beauty prods!). There was a point where I got obssessed with a certain tea tree-scented lotion and she'd always pack a bottle to give to me.
I think I'll start calling it gift-giving, Jenny-style. It's such a Jenny thing to do! Honestly, I think she loves shopping for little gifts and cards and such and surprising someone with them. (I love her little cards and available-only-in-the-US notecards!) She didn't even forget my wedding, though she was in New York (it's one of my favorite wedding presents: Crate & Barrel rubber mats that can pretty much do anything!).
Thanks so much, Jenny! Besides the gifts, also hanging in there despite my email embargo, general crankiness and even at times late-night (in your case, early morning) ranting. We aren't as close as, say, you and Rach and Karen, but I really, really appreciate your thousands signs of showing you care. *hug*
