i'm a big fan of nick cave, so when david told me that he wrote an Aussie western and that he had a bootleg copy, I was on it like stink on a whore's crotch.
unfortunately, i was underwhelmed. cave's style of song-writing doesn't transfer well to screen-writing (much like MASKED AND ANONYMOUS and RENALDO & CLARA, Dylan's attempts at authoring movies). there's never any building tension and the characters either aren't fleshed out, or aren't given enough screen-time.
a decent effort, but a disappointment.
the exploding head was cool though.
