Funny final story

Jun 04, 2009 19:07

So today I had my second to last final, a presentation with a group. I woke up late and texted my partner to let him know I would be a few minutes.

[As some of you know, the dream the night before the final about being late to the final, always keeps you up the night before the final. Last night I did not have that dream, hence the waking up late (in this case causation and correlation are equal).]

Anyways after getting to class a few minutes late, we are getting ready to present but the guy that put the powerpoint together is not there. He had emailed the group the final that morning and then emailed us and the professor that he could not make it, he was too sick.

So we present and all pass the class.

When I returned home to regroup, and brush my teeth, I checked my email to see what the absent guy had to say. He mentioned flu like symptomes and asked for the teachers forgiveness, and said he would come in sometime next week if necessary.

Because I was tired and the guy had never really pissed me off, I emailed the professor on absent guys behalf, explaining that he was an awesome partner and we could not have done the presentation today without him, and to not punish the kid academically for feeling ill.

My response from the teacher was the following:

Good Afternoon Deanna:

No problem.  Absent boy will not be "punished academically".

Have you give any thought to getting an MBA and going into the business aspects of chemistry rather than working in a lab?  Either way you will be successful.

Cheers

I just wanted to let you all laugh at the idea of me running a chemical company and getting an MBA
