Okay. So for the past twenty years, every single headline about comics has been some variation on "Comics: Not just for kids!"

Apparently, some people still haven't got the message. (Link found via WFA.)

I think my favourite part is "After all, comics are for kids, she reasoned, particularly those about Batman." Thank God she didn't pick up Dark Knight Returns. Or ASBaR. Or anything Grant Morrison has had anything to do with. Or...

Seriously, I hate when people assume nothing has changed in the forty years since the Adam West Batman show aired. I hate when people buy something without checking if it is appropriate and then blame the person who made it. It is not their fault that you failed to ask if what you had was a kids' book.

...Actually, no. My favourite part is "“Who knows,” said Bill Spivock, “in the end they might actually be worth something.”" Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Spivock. You have just displayed both of the really annoying misconceptions about comic books. ("Comics are for kids", of course, as well as "This comic I paid a dime for is Worth Money.")

people are stupid, things found on the internet, comics: not just for kids
