Not Chris Nolan's Gotham City
I've spent today fantasy casting Gotham characters who are not white dudes. Too lazy to repost all the pictures, so here they are on tumblr. (So far we have: Bane, Lady Shiva, Cass Cain, Steph Brown, Leslie Thompkins, Renee Montoya, Maggie Sawyer, Cris Allen, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Natalia Knight.)
Still looking for:
- Dinah: You would think a white blonde woman would be easy for me to find in Hollywood, but I can’t think of someone who has the right look and the acting chops. (My ideal Dinah is somewhere between Pete Krause’s Canary and Nicola Scott’s, if that helps pin down the look I’m going for?) I’d say early to mid thirties?
- Babs: Must be an actual wheelchair user, early thirties-ish?
- Talia: A Middle Eastern woman, she’s immortal so age doesn’t really matter as much here
- Damian: I know he gets whitewashed in canon, but I want a Middle Eastern or mixed-race kid here.
- Helena: Italian or Italian-American woman, able to pull off the anger Helena needs, about the same age as Babs
- Kate: Pale, with some actual muscle tone, preferably ethnically Jewish and/or actually queer, about the same age as Dinah? BAD AT JUDGING AGES IDK
- Anyone else I’m missing
