the wedding grinch who stole xmess
We've just been told that my brother-in-law is getting married to his
very nice gf of two years (who was actually his girlfriend back when
they were teens. Bless!) This is delightful news apart from the fact that they are getting married on XMESS EVE!!!? Um...
this just strikes me as a) wierd b)bizarre c)strange and d)slightly
selfish. I'm totally thrilled that they're getting married, wish them
all the best, yadda yadda yadda but it just makes no sense to me to get
married on 24 December?!?!!!Why not have it as a special stand-alone
day? It also means that all of our family Xmess eve traditions can't
take place and yes, I know that the girls aren't little and it's
probably going to be kind of cool to have a break from our normal
activities on that day but geez.
Me just no get it, Tarzan.
Plus... their plan right now is to get married at the registry office and then we all go to the pub for drinks. No meal. No nothing else. Uh...yeah. Cos I really want to spend Xmess eve in the PUB with my preteen SDs. Andrew won't even be able to drink because he'll have to DRIVE US ALL HOME.
Hrmmm... am I being a poop about this, I wonder? If so, what's my damage?
