I just bought a new computer this Black Friday. I am so happy I can finally stop using my boyfriend's laptop. Desktops are more my style than laptops any day of the week. Next on my list is a new iPod followed by a new cell phone.
I also bought Beyonce's new CD. "I Am... Sasha Fierce" is the album title. Maybe it will grow on me, but I only like maybe 3 songs from the entire album. Of course, I can't get enough of "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)." That may be because her choreography for the video was inspired by Bob Fosse's "Mexican Breakfast" from "Snake in the Grass." It's that popular video with Gwen Verdon and two backup dancers doing a truly Fosse choreographed dance routine. Beyonce, of course, infused the choreography with popping, sex, and hip hop.
The worst song I've encountered on the CD was "Diva." The song has terrible lyrics and a bad vocal line. Stay away!
I have rehearsal tonight for this one night only show called "Glam-o-rama." I have yet to really go to a rehearsal, but all I know is that it's a show revolving around 90's drag style. Bright colors, florescent wigs, over the top costumes, etc. I just get to be a dancer for one of the parts in the show. The last show I dad was "El Grande De Coca-Cola," and I got to meet a professional female impersonate by the name of Krystal Kelley. She is the one that got me this paying gig. Although, I kind of think she wants in my pants. I will keep my distance in that sense.
More to come later. Lots of love. Muah!
