I am really peeved at Eugene (and fucking Dominic who never failed to piss me off even in secondary school because of his bigotry ways.) Before I could copy and paste the facebook status update, he deleted it. But the gist was that the people who attended aware are a bunch of retards who should join the special olympics.
Jeanette (and I) have been trying to correct the point that was put across that Aware is a loser group that promoted sides. And yes, I agree that the awareness of what the group did wasn't all out there till this saga, BUT I hate it when these MALE BLOODY ALTAR SERVERS have to impose their views and denigrate the work that these women have done for all battered and abused women-to raise the importance of the issues that concern women as it is too often the work of the fucktards with dicks who impose stupid societal expectations on us. I mean, ok, seriously, do you have to use your MOM as an example to show that because this ONE TEENY TINY INDIVIDUAL WHO HAPPENED TO POP YOU FROM HER PEE PEE did not agree with the drama that ensued, THAT BLOODY MEANS THAT THE GOOD WORKS DONE IS NOT RECOGNISABLE?!!??!?! Yes, we can channel all these drama into something more constructive but nothing constructive could have been done until the right people were on the team and that's what they were trying to do.
Only people who can never understand what it's like to live under the thumb of others, who live like kings pampered by their parents, society, employers, blahblahblah can say such things against a group for women. Seriously, I don't have particular loyalty towards Aware, and I admit I was apathetic. But it resonated in my heart (deep down inside) that there was at least an active organistion that is pro-women... so please don't impose your unwanted and unneeded advice, comments thank you very fucking much.
I've pasted the other comments here for you to see. You'll realise there are very gendered sides.
Eugene Wong - I've removed the status because of the flak it's drawn, and the fact that what I said doesn't do the Special Olympics any justice. I would just like to congratulate everyone who has been involved in the whole AWARE saga, for behaving in the way only Taiwanese politicians would. Looks like Jackie Chan was right, eh?

condescending much? and i'm sorry, you are not fully entitled to do that just because you read The Straits Times.

like i said, for the most part the old guard was not being childish at all. their reactions were legitimate and necessary, and sensible and concerned Singaporeans got involved because they understood the importance of preserving the secular nature of AWARE.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Dominic Lim at 11:56am May 4
wah why u remove the post? scared ah? how could u desert aware? they counseled you when you were raped didnt they?
Jeanette Tan remove your status! what you said is terrible!
Ronald Loh at 11:26am May 4
actually he has a point. even my mom thinks they've got nothing else better to do, and that all that hype could be channeled into something more constructive.
Yeo Zhen Xiong at 11:28am May 4
well... it did create awareness for aware.
Ronald Loh at 11:29am May 4
that's what dom and i said earlier on eug's post.
Jeanette Tan at 11:48am May 4
but about the special olympics? that comment was extremely mean.
and "all that hype" would not even have happened if TSM and Josie et al didn't stage the takeover, and try to impose their religious beliefs on AWARE in the way they did.
and so what's wrong with creating increased publicity for AWARE? it's good that more young women will come to know... Read More about the organisation. i would say that most women in the know would support it and trust its ability to protect ALL women, regardless of race OR religion OR sexuality.

And this could very well explain why I would prefer a lesbian relationship... but ok, I am sorry if I generalised.
