Goodbye to Dude
Well, he's gone. Chris and I figured out we were both checking on him every so often to make sure he was still alive. He was almost too weak to stand and the hydration treatments were only helping a little. In fact I think the 2nd or 3rd one we gave him actually hurt him somehow. He was just a little bundle of bones and fur. It was time to say goodbye. At the vets they tactfully gave us a few minutes to say goodbye and it became pretty obvious that the goodbye needed to not be too long or the needle wouldn't be necessary. The vet is a very nice lady and has a voice like Minnie Mouse. The injection worked very quickly and Chris and I petted him while he died. It was hard to stop.
Oh, well. It's not EXACTLY July 4.
So we'll go out to Second Chance tomorrow and take a look around. As it turns out it's about 3 blocks from Printing Services.
