Ok, it's been a very long time... May seems like a lifetime ago.
Things here are very good. I'm busy, but in a way I really like. I'm still getting some quality "summer" time in - reading a lot, sleeping, hanging out with Dave & friends, etc. It's just really a good summer.
Cheerleading is going well, I think this is the most talented team I've ever coached. I say that every year... and I mean it every year, but we're really doing things that I never thought we'd be doing. For all of you former or alum cheerleaders, we have team back walkovers, 4 people with standing back handsprings (and at least 3 more who are VERY close), 3 stunt groups that are working on libs (all can hit them, just not all are solid yet), and at least one AWESOME pyramid! I'm VERY excited to start working on the homecoming routine. I'm also very excited about JV. Those of you who still check this, think about checking out a JV practice sometime (Monday after conditioning or Thursday before our practice). There are some REALLY talented girls on JV, and they may be your team mates before you know it!!
I'm also a home camp director for Cheer Michigan this summer. I'm "directing" my first camp tomorrow, which is really sort of a superficial job. I'm not doing anything hands-on, I'm just there to work with the coaches and to support the staff members (ROSIE!!!) when they need it. I LOVE working with C!M, I want it to be my career. I love the people and I really feel valued by them and the people are amazing to work with. I really hope that I do well this summer and that they keep me on as a director in the future!
Beyond the cheer stuff, I had fun in San Francisco - it was cool... literally. It's cold there in the summer. It was freezing at night. The city was fun, and Napa Valley was great. The wineries are awesome. I always have fun with my girlfriends no matter what. Next summer - Savannah!
Murphy is a huge beast. He loves swimming (in the lake or in his baby pool) and playing catch (though he doesn't bring the ball back). I love him, and he's totally a mama's boy - he follows me around the house all day.
I've already read about 10 books this summer and I have 6 more that I just picked up from the library. They are light "fluffy" books about girly things: relationships, money, shopping, fashion, etc. They are fun to read and don't require much thought.
BTW - Don't forget your summer reading projects.
Ok, so I'm going back to enjoying my summer, so you do the same. Leave me a note!
