Writer's Block: It Sounds Better When You Say It
I've heard lots, but I think my favourite is "Vuole la botte piena e la moglie ubriaca" - we say "He wants to have his cake and eat it", but their version is "He wants a full barrel and a drunk wife". I once heard my Sicilian team leader at Emirates translate this literally (and very loudly) after a particularly difficult call with an unreasonable customer.
