life...

Today was/is a good day. It doesn't seem like the 4th of July though....the primary reason is because I am in Michigan...I have essentially been in South Carolina for the 4th except twice since 1991 I believe.

We had lunch with a friend from Tech and her family. It was a nice visit. She lives in Minnesota so we don't see her very often. Actually A LOT of our Tech friends ended up in Minneapolis...so many that for a while (a brief while) Bruce and I thought about moving there. I am glad we didn't...

During naptime I had a good "conversation" with one of my best friends. :-) I like the openness we have in our relationship...the fact that we can be honest and straight forward all the time makes me happy. A lot of times "friends" aren't...and acquaintances definitely not. Most of the time people will just tell you what they think you want to hear...like how many people ask you how you are and you say fine...even though you really aren't. I know I am guilty...do I really tell everyone how I really feel...no...some, definitely, but a lot of time I assume people really don't want to be bothered with my problems... At the same time though, I KNOW I don't hide my emotions or feelings very well...especially from some people. I like how some people know what you are thinking and feeling just by the little things...

After naptime we took the kids to the park, they had a good time playing on the giant inflatable bouncy things (you know what I mean right)...well, then the thunder hit...we ALMOST made it back to the car before the downpour. I like a good rain...but when I am trying to get three kids through the park and to the van, it isn't super. Especially since Syd isn't all that found of loud noises... We were thinking about eating at Twin's, but they were closed. The rain made us decide not to eat in the park...so we decided to go to Burger King...the kids had fun...we were the ONLY people in there...we actually thought they were closed at first. lol

While driving around Bruce was in his quick quiz mood again...which means he tries to get me to name the artist/band for each given song on the radio. Well, Syd and Alex are FAR better at this game than me...so, I am sure you can tell I am not good at it. There was actually a sond I knew, was singing the words but had no clue who it was...so I like to give STUPID answers sometimes. The really scary thing is when one of my stupid answers turn out right....

The best part about the rain...On the way home we well at least Bruce and I saw a rainbow. :-) We tried to get Syd and Alex to see it, but they had difficulties since it wasn't super bright. It was kinda frustrating though.

Scrapbook update: I have 39 pages "mostly done" which mean that all the pics are on the page all I have to is add the "story" or the journaling that goes with it...actually some of those are done done...but not all that many. lol. All I have left is Graduation, snowcoming and science olympiad...but i think sci oly might be a SUPER HUMONGOUS SECTION...I would guess about 14 pages or so...

Syd and Alex have both started this annoying stuttering habit...I don't know why...not sure if they just don't know what to say or what the deal is...but they are both doing it.

I am ordering a bunch of stuff for calc tomorrow or Wednesday... hee hee...including a class set of school bus yellow TI-84 pluses (silver). Seems silly that a silver edition is yellow...lol I am still hoping for laptops too. We will see what happens...

Ok...now it is scrapbook time again...I am having a lot of fun making this book. I am doing a bit of reminiscing in the meantime...
