A weekly recap:

Monday we did London's birthday celebration. I made a cake, my father in law brought over dinner, and afterwards, he opened his gifts. He is in love with the Imaginext Batcave that he got from Matthew's Dad. And the owl portable night light he got from us. He also got Planes on dvd, some clothes, a large Doodle Pro and some books.

Tuesday the temperatures bottomed out. The schools in the area went on two-hour delay, our MOPS meeting got cancelled, and everyone around us was in a panic about what to do. It was 20 degrees out! I've lived down here almost 6 years -- and I guess there are still some things I need to get used to. I just rolled my eyes about it. But we all stayed home all day, enjoying time in pajamas!

Wednesday was our errands day. We were supposed to have a play date in the morning, but thanks to some less-than-stellar behavior on Savannah's part, I cancelled it. She was pissed -- but seems to have understood WHY she didn't get to go. We hit up the library to get some new books and wound up running into another of the kids' friends -- so they still got some play time. And after getting groceries, it was time to come home.

Thursday was our first day back  to the gym this year. It felt good to get in some cardio -- and the kids went right into the playroom like it was no big deal. I was a little concerned about London, but I guess because they were the only ones in there, and the fact that he's used to leaving me for Church and Mops now, he had no problem. He just spent the rest of the day making him carry him, and hold him, everywhere. Cranky -- but oh well.

Friday we spent the morning visiting some friends who just had a new baby, and then got our flu shots. The kids stared, amazed, and silent, while I got stuck. If that's what it takes to quiet them down, I'll gladly get stuck over and over again!! Matthew went out with his Dad that night for dinner, and the kids and I enjoyed an easy dinner and a movie on tv with some popcorn.

Saturday was pretty lazy to start. But just after naptimes began, we had to take cover in the bathtub. There was a tornado spotted in our area -- closest we've had to deal with since I've lived here. Of course the kids didn't really want to sleep after that, although they did get a little bit of quiet time. But afterwards, I got out an old box and some markers and let them entertain themselves. I was tired ... and they were high strung from lack of sleep. So it was the best idea I could come up with -- but they seemed to enjoy it.

Sunday we hit up church. Matthew didn't really want to go because of a cough, but tagged along anyway. He ducked out to get a drink before it started, and never came back! He wound up sitting down and talking with someone -- and before they knew it, service was over, I had gotten both the kids and we were on the hunt to find him so we could leave! After naps, Matthew's Dad came over to feed and watch the kids while we went out to dinner alone. The service was slow, but the sangria was GREAT -- so we'll call it a draw. And it was a giftcard, so I can't complain too much! We came home to a big mess -- dinner dishes still on the table {and they were paper plates, folks!} and food still all over the kids faces and hands ... but I guess beggars can't be choosers. And I'll take what I can get for some quiet alone time with the husband!

Matthew is working a long week this week -- 5 12-hour shifts. So I need to think of some things to do with the kids this weekend to keep us entertained.
