I through my resume online at careerbuilder.com to see what would happen, as I have been toying with the idea of going to actual work now that my kids are all in school. Even though, I work for myself, I wondered if I could make more money working for a company than for myself, and with them in school, I would have the time to do that.
So I haven't really gotten any nibbles at all over the past month. I set my salary really high. I figured, what the hell, might as well go for it.
Well for my profession, we are substantially undercut in salary and overworked. (Isn't that true for most professions?)
So... today of all days has been really harsh for me. I started the day off by being fired by one client becasue they are out of money. They can't pay me, they currently owe me and then they up and fired me. OH well anyway, I thought. I just this week signed and started working for a promising brand new client that would be very valuable for me. They CONTRACTed my services for 6 months at a heafty retainer, and so I planned on having that income, which I need right now for the next 6-months, especially through property tax time, kids braces time and Christmas.
So I get a call around 5 from the new company. They cancelled the contract. They were just bought out and the company that owns them told them to immediately let me go because they have other plans. So I have now been fired from 2 clients in one day.
WOW, pretty much sucks.
I then recieve a really, really, almost seredipitious call from a recruiter. She saw my resume, has had a position open for more then a month and is interested in talking to me. So I talk to her for about an hour and low and behold it is an old client of mine. A company I know everything about! A company that is still successfully using the plan I created for them 4 years ago. After talking to her about my experience and what not, she wants me to immediately come in to interview- at the company- for my DREAM job at my DREAM pay, tomorrow at 1. If she likes me, the PRESIDENT of the company will interview me on Friday morning and I will be hired.
I NEED all of you to please send me all the good karma you can spare my way. I really need and want this position. It is fate. I just know it is. I am destined to have it and I really need your well wishes. I know that all of you have your own troubles and concerns, too.. so If you have any good karma left, any at all.. I really, relly need to borrow some for Tomorrow and Friday. I will promise to work really hard and get some karma of my own to share with you when you need it.
Thanks in advance for your wishes. (And if you want to send me well wishes at 1 during my interview, that is 1 eastern standard time, and Indiana doesn't observe daylight savings)
