Extraordinary Breastfeeding

Feb 01, 2006 23:25

Was on tonight, C4 9pm.
I watched it with some trepidation; was it going to be edited to be a freakshow, was it going to be full of small-minded people that I just wanted to hit?

It was better than I expected. I'm still not sure about the 7 year old, I didn't like the forced weaning of the 2 year old twins but I did like the young mother from Blackburn and the family who adopted the Chinese girl. I didn't feel that it was too sensationalist, or doing a 'pointing fingers at the funny women'.

There was one man I wanted to shout at, and a couple of women. It would have been nice if the programme makers had found one or two 'general public' who were supportive of public breastfeeding, as well as the 4 or 5 anti's they featured.

Dare I risk browisng the BBC pages? Radio 1 (which I am subjected to all day in the lab) have been talking about it all day and asking people to write in and comment.
It might not be good for my blood pressure.
