first day in glasgow...welcome home!
Ahhh, mina-san,
I knew I was back in my element...the first day of my trip and the scots weather wlecomes me in....rain, wind and overcast.
It's so weird, no one here wears hats, gloves OR carries an u,brella!! I forgot about that one. >.< so, here I am lonely lil lu-chan trying to look like a glasgewian by foregoing my umbrella /.....but, after a while of being pelted (seriously, I even saw silver haired lil ladies with no hat or umbrella!!!)...I HAD to put my umbrella up.
In nyc, even if there is a slight drizzle, every one dons their trendy umbrella. Not here. I ma surprised people don't get ill!
Then again, with socialised medicine, what is there to worry. ^__^
So, I am in a cafe now, sipping a latte and having a REAL biscotti, streight from Italy($6!!!...fucking US dollar SUCKS!!!!)
And, my luck, the man at the cash register, working the bar is a scots asian!!! Cute too. ^^ I forget that most people here are scottish, regardless of their origin. So you get asians with a thick scots accent.
Even if I do end up with a scotsman...may be he WILL be a Japanese scotsman. The one kind of person you don't see too often here...is,, ironically, someone like me. There are not a lot of spanish/latin looking people here. I have had three people ask me if I was visiting from portugal. >.< heehee
