And now for the sermon ...

It was Harvest Festival this Sunday.  This meant that we had a Family Service - with the children staying in for the entire service. (It's the same service as usual, only the preach is shorter and the children got to take gifts to be distributed later up to the front.  As we plough the isles of Tesco or Sainsburys rather than  the fields, there were alot of packets of this and that).  As Mr T wandered up to give the sermon - 10 minutes instead of the usual twenty - a blond moppet aged about two instantly got up and started heading towards the back of the church.  This was before Mr T had the chance to announce that there was colourng for the children at the back.  Funny how children instantly know ...

He was very good by the way.  And I'm not just saying that!  I like "punk sermons" and occassionally think that if you can't say it in 10 minutes, then there's no point in saying it at all.  Baptist heresy!  It was a good Family Service as well.  Family Services are probably the hardest thing to pull off as you have balance the needs of the grown-ups with the needs of the children.  They can end up either being too complicated or too simple.  Or way too long!

Mr T has also started Vicar School and had his Welcome Service.  I shall try and write about it as soon as I can manage something more coherent than OMGhe'savicarOMGandI'mavicar'swife!
