This morning started out with my first (and hopefully last) visit to the Filene's Basement Bridal Run.
Team Andrea arrived at 6am, for an 8am start. We waited on line in front of APB and a bunch of vendors came by as well as newsreporters. yum, thank goodness for the smoothies! Lots of colorful shirts and hats. . .we were sponsored by Microsoft "college."
We started moving forward. . .and after a bunch of twists and turns the rows of gowns appeared in front of us. . .and in front of our very eyes, every rack was emptied before we even had the chance to grab anything! amazing.
So then we milled around trying to find anything that we could trade - Andrea grabbed a, yes you won't believe it, black wedding dress with lace off-white arms to trade. It was quite amusing. People had stockpiled gowns and were sitting on them on the floor. It was ridiculous and really made me loathe the whole wedding industry! Andrea managed to try on a few things before we finally departed -the first ones to leave - at 9am. Once someone would find a dress, they would blow this annoying whistle for like 10 minutes and then the person would be photographed for the news. . .
ok, back to all things El Salvador!
