I don't feel like posting this morning. I'm tired and I can't describe my mood. My location is wrong, as the van broke *again.* We brought it home from the shop Monday afternoon and returned the rental Tuesday morning. On the way to my allergy shot (two days early since I had to skip going on Thanksgiving for obvious reasons) I thought the car didn't feel quite right. After my shot we realized the van was pulling toward the right. I asked Jebra to call the repair shop to talk to them but he got busy with work and didn't call immediately. On the drive home from work the car not only pulled but started making a very strange noise. I thought it sounded like a wheel was going to come off (I have no idea what that really sounds like, so this sound could have meant anything). Jebra got on the phone with the repair place and they said they could look at it in the morning. So he took me home and a little later drove over to the shop and dropped the van and keys off. He wrote to work to let them know we would not be in on time this morning. We haven't heard from anyone yet so I don't know if we're going to have to return to Enterprise and pick up another rental.
There isn't much in the way of mom news this week. I talked with her once since Thanksgiving but she was tired and was mumbling to such a degree I was having trouble understanding her words. I just now called but got her voicemail. That's often what happens so I can't say I was surprised. I would like to talk to her and find out how she's doing now.
I finished two more Patricia Moyes books since Wednesday. I downloaded Black Girl, White Girl from Hoopla last night but haven't started reading it yet. This is the penultimate Henry Tibbett mystery, so I'm likely to finish the entire series before the year is out. I don't have a clear plan on what I'm going to read next. I have a ton of stuff on my Kindle so I have lots of options if any of them sound good or I can borrow something else from Hoopla.
I didn't mention it earlier, but we drove down to Indiana to see Jebra's family for Thanksgiving. I wasn't going to go due to feeling I needed to be home to feed Fiona. Jebra talked me into setting up the cat feeder and that half a day of no food wouldn't do any harm. Particularly since this is the cat who refused to eat for four weeks. Unfortunately for all of us, two doors on the feeder did not open and she was very hungry when we arrived back at home.
The visit with Jebra's family was nice although I will admit it is distressing to see how diminished his parents have become. Both have memory issues and Jebra is fairly certain they have forgotten the names of all three of their kid's spouses. I'm not taking it at all personally but it sad to see. For me, the best part of the holiday was talking with my sister-in-law Stephanie. And seeing her sons. Missing from the celebration were her daughter and her husband, and Jebra's sister and her husband. They were in Hawaii; we were happy for them until we learned why they were going. They were there for a funeral.
Over the actual weekend I watched every episode of Masterpiece's Magpie Murders. I enjoyed the show, enjoying it more with each episode. And I totally loved the interviews with the author after every episode. If you like mysteries, I'd highly recommend catching the show.
