The big event of the week was Motor City Furry Con (MCFC). This year's subtitle was "Fantastic Brews and where to find them;" we came home with growlers filled with Pear Cider. I haven't tried any yet but I'm willing to bet is is excellent. Anyway, this year's theme was MCFC with a Harry Potter twist. We're in a new hotel and I missed the old one because I knew where everything was and knew what to expect. There were no hotel problems other than the lack of heat on Sunday (when most folks were leaving anyway). For me, the hotel was barely warm enough Thursday through Saturday and was downright freezing on Sunday. Even after I got home and turned up the heat it took hours before I stopped being cold.
I donated 24 cat beds to New Beginnings Animal Rescue, with the hope they could sell some during the convention. I know they sold at least one because I have photographic proof. I also donated a bed with a needle-felted center for the auction. Hopefully at some point I will learn how much it went for. I do know that a total of $15,762.38 was raised for the rescue.
In other news, I went to the dentist this morning. No cavities but I may have some sort of infection. I start antibiotics this afternoon and hope to start feeling better. (If I wasn't on duty at MCFC, I was sleeping. I saw a lot of familiar faces at the con but hardly talked to anyone on account of not feeling right.)
