The horrors of working in retail; and some fangirling about BBC's Sherlock

Well today was my last day of work, thank the powers that be! At the beginning of this summer got work as a womens clothing storm at the local mall, which shall remain anonymous because i pride myself on being a lady of principles. I soon found out the horrors of working in retail; the long hours working on the floor which lead to ones legs feeling as weak as those of a newborn calf. And having to "close" which means that, after the store officially closes at 9, I have to stay, often until as late as 2 in the morning, in order to clean it up adn ready it for the next day. But, of course, the gleaming jewels of my 6 hour shifts were the customers who were usually universally disgruntled or insane. It would have been different if i had been selling something i was interested in, or cared about, like books, but needless to say, I shan't be delving into the world of clothing retail if i can avoid it.

On the bright side, having to get up early for work did allow me to watch a lot of the World Cup matches, which i followed obsessively. And these last few weeks, I have had ht epleasing distraction of BBC's Sherlock. It is quite simple, awesomeness, especially the first episode penned by none other than the Moff himself. I am now quite in love with Benedict Cumberbatcha dn Martin Freeman and cannot wait for the last episode this sunday. I adore the Conan Doyle stories in all of their 19th century fun, but this update has been glorious.
