Just popping up to rave about BBC's Merlin which I've jsut started watching. It is so awesome! Not only is it a wonderful re-imagining of the old Arthurian ledgends, but it has two beautiful boys, Colin Morgan and Bradley James, as Merlin and Arthur respectivly and two lovely ladies as Morgana and Gwen(I'm Bi so, hey, win win;)). But the best part is the relationship between Merlin and Arthur: it's so slasherific I keep thinking I'll die from the gorgeousness. And as an experienced slasher(Jeeves and Wooster, Holmes and Watson, and more recently I've discovered the joys of Raffles and Bunny)this show it like sweet nectar from the gods. I just finished watching the episode "Gwenevere and Lancelot" and even in a scene where Arthur is talking to Merlin about his feelings for Gwen( the writers, god bless their little souls, are valiantly trying to work in a straight love interest by hurling Gwen at Arthur), even in this scene the homoerotic tension is rife! Rife I tell you!! I think in these days we should just go with it; thats not to say that Gwen and Arthur shouldn't get together; I wouldn't mind that. But don't sweep the Merlin/Arthur relationship under the carpet; let it out in the open for all it's deliciousness to be seen. The great Conan Doyle tried to avoid it with Holmes and Watson by lobbing a wife at Watson, but even he gave up after a while and Mary only appears in like 3 of the cannon stories not including SOF. All I'm saying is respect the homoeroticism and work it:) If it's thre, it's there and it's usually awesome.
But the show is serisouly wonderful, aside from being a slashers dream. All the actors are quite good and the stories have a nice patterened style while not being boringly repetative. As I say all four of the main characters are quite hot, but I think colin morgan is my new lover of the moment. Most fans seem to prefer Bradley; and I can see that, because he is quite hot in an Abrecrombie and Fitch way; but there's something about Colin. Tall, skinny, lovely cheek bones, puppy dog eyes, pale sking and dark ink black hair: could he be more my type?;)
I've been working my way through the series and I find myself not wanting it to end! Onward, to Camelot<3
