and then a journalist asks you a question that requires specific knowledge to answer, and you wind up making the entire organization look stupid when you can't provide a good answer and have to talk around it. ie: dubya
i'm going to ignore that slight correlation between me and dubya because it was just stupid.
and being a public speaker entails specific knowledge. you get it straight from the people who do the experiments, research a bit yourself, and you have enough knowledge to answer journalists' questions.
