Toward the end of this episode, Dan hears from a woman who used to be homeless and "ride the rails" and when she would have a relationship under those conditions, she and the other person would be together 24/7, and they would bond very quickly, because of the circumstances. Now she's settled and has a home and she called for advice because she doesn't really know how to date without immediately starting to spend all her time with the person. She doesn't know how to date and take it slowly. His answer gave me some insight. It made me wonder about the connection between precarious social positions and the formation of romantic relationships. I have other, very personal, memories that inform this idea, which are written down in a notebook, but I won't include them here.
