Ok, I know a lot of women wait to have showers until the last month, or closely around there, of pregnancy. However, I will be having mine at the beginning of February. This places the last month around New Years. Problem is that people won't really be able to afford gifts and I don't want any well meaning people to overspend their budgets on my ( Read more... )

You will have to remind me! Since it's in February and I'll have moved by then, I may perchance forget, as the past two months for me feels like two seconds.

I think a cute themed shower would be awesome. I would love to help throw it, but I'm so completely broke right now [gifts are no problem though XD let people worry about that themselves :)], but if there's anything small that I can do, like getting decorations or throwing around ideas with you or something, just drop me a note!

And baby's sleep in laundry baskets all the time. I think it's the most adorable idea. I think being in there wrapped up in freshly dried warm t-shirts would be like heaven. Lucky kid!

No joke huh! I think that's how some of us developed a fetish for fresh towels and sheets...I don't go nuts but I know some people who seem to loose it when the dryer goes ding! Thanks for the willingness to help hon'! If I can get it situated at a good time then I'll let you know so we can hang out and decorate beforehand. I am sad to hear that you are sharing my previous insanity with school. As much as I miss hashing out ideas and theories with everyone...I don't miss that. My grasp on reality may never be solid but at least it's not like swimming in pud'n any more. Gambatte! You can do it!!

Dryer-towels fetishes... wow, there's so much of this wonderful world I haven't yet encountered XD
Yes, school is insane, and I love that last line, but I'm almost done! Hurrah! You will have to come visit in Daytona to hang out at the beach with Kay!

Groovy! I definitely want to take Kay to the beach plenty. I think she will love it and I know I will love watching her. I wonder how old they have to be before that sorta thing is kosher??? I'll have to find out. I wouldn't want her to get swept away.

Well, I was born in Florida and so I know my dad took me to the beach all the time since I was first born, and I was swimming [well, as much as a -1 year old can swim] for a really long time, but I can ask my mom to double check that about seawater and whatnot, if you want. Since babies love water anyway and drowning isn't usually a problem, especially because of the supervision, really the only worry would be the wildlife. My parents had me swimming in the ocean and riding motorcycles and hiking in FL/GA wilderness practically straight from the womb. I have stories about encounters with snakes and stuff that would probably make your newmommy heart jump, XD. So I think she'd be relatively safe. plus, if she's big enough to fit in her own little flotation thingie, you can always tie it to you, I've seen mommy's do that to give their arms a break if they're worried about something happening, especially on really busy beaches. But I'm not a mom, myself, so I only have limited advice there. XD

Honestly, that's what I was kinda thinking but I am a little concerned about her drinking the salt water and the stuff that could be in it. That's about it. I want to be sure that she has the sense and the immunity to deal with it or sufficent baby dumb luck if that works too but ya know.
