Well, I have relearned a lesson that I should have learned at 13.
Nair doesn't work for me. It does make the skin smooth...since it removes some of it but otherwise it leaves me irritated, red and with a layer of now short but still very there hair. I should leave the chemicals on to remove the hair but once it starts to burn me, I take it off as per bottle and common sense instructs. Gah!!! I just want to get a waxing and be done with it. Shaving is a hassle but I feel beastly with hair. Call it giving in to social standard if you will and tell me that if society didn't say it was proper that I wouldn't care but PHHT!! I like the feel of clean, smooth skin. It may not seem really, really girly to anyone else but for a girl who doesn't 'do' her hair or makeup (or does so very rarely) and doesn't get mani/pedicures or paint her nails and doesn't go to spas or even take bubble baths, this is my girly thing. Though my feet could use some attention too as I don't like to wear shoes either. Hell, I could use a hair trim too....sucks being an academic sometimes. I didn't even think about this stuff until a friend wanted to take pics of me and I took inventory of various little extra hygene things that I might want to catch up on. Oh but I have grown my nails...see I am a girl, hehe.
Ok well, that's my girly rant.
