When was the last time you were happy for dial-up?
My company was happy for it today. We had water and electricity and our network was up. Our internet was down though. With as much time as we spend on the net downloading prices, uploading trades and doing research, no internet is a bad thing. Thank the gods for holding on to dial-up. One lone computer and modem saved the day, well that and teamwork. We played musical desks as everyone took turns using the one computer still connected to the outside world.
At home the power is still out and little hope of it coming back up till sometime tomorrow. It also looks like possibilities of potlucks at work. Too many of didn't have power this morning. Eating what little there is to salvage is a big deal when the choice is eat it or throw it out.
Now to head home at wait for my power to come on. There is also being thankful for libraries and hot water that still is plentiful and gas stoves to cook on.
