Life Lessons

For some time now, I've been meaning to make a list of "Things that I've come to learn over my 4 decades of living that make life easier".  At least, I'll start it now and add to it as I get older;

1. Never put your eyeglasses somewhere where they can be a) sat on or b) stepped on.

2.  Whenever traveling (even if it's around the city), and you get up and leave a place (even if it's a park bench), always look back to see if you've left something behind.

3.  Never stand when you can sit.

4.  Never sit when you can lie down.

5.  Never let them catch you lying down (I learned #3-5 in medical school).

6.  To avoid having to call a plumber for a blocked toilet, try plunging the toilet while it's flushing. EDIT: Only try this method if the water level in the bowl is below normal.  Otherwise, you could get overflow.

7.  Whenever doing any kind of important paperwork (or any paperwork at all), e.g. passport application, school pizza form, always keep a copy for yourself.

8.  Never put "Dr." on your credit cards or airline tickets (a sure fire way to get ripped off or shafted, respectively).

9.  Don't give any personal information over the phone (also a handy tip for shutting up various telemarketers).

10. Carry Tylenol with you in your bag.  Also Cold-FX.
