Today was a fairytale...

I love imagination and wonder. This weekend I returned to San Jose and brought along Jameisha, Bailey and Krista. We drove past my old preschool (what used to be Rainbow Knowledge, now Stratford Middle School) and Bailey proclaimed - "Kat! You grew up in a fairytale!" The theme of fairytales and magic followed us all weekend.
We went to the woods on Saturday and ran around, hid in trees, found banana slugs and put them on our faces. It started to rain, but was the perfect amount of rain - a light refreshing sprinkle that made me feel alive! I love Felton, CA.

In February when some Westmonsters stayed at my house, a friend Harrison said "Kat, this house looks like it came out of a storybook"

So I've never thought about it like this before, but I think they're right. And I think that's why I love unicorns, and sparkles and rainbows and imaginations. I think it's good, it keep a sense of childlike wonder in my life.

The bad side is that sometimes I don't want to deal with harsh realities in my life, I would rather pretend everything is perfect, or any problems will be magically solved by my fairy godmother. It's something I definitely need to work on as I am entering the adult world - eep!

However, I think it's good, and I think too many people are too quick to "grow up" and forget everything it is about being a kid. What kind of a world would it be if we did not deny our inner child? Personally, I think a better one.
