Birthday Weekend
So on Friday the 19th I finally entered the adult world by turning 18! So the day started with me getting tackled at midnight by Hannah, getting sung happy birthday, and tons of birthday hugs! This was followed by my RA saying "It's quiet hours!!! It's not even her birthday" She then realized later that it was (She overheard me say something earlier that made her think it wasn't). When she realized that it was she felt bad/silly she had been getting angry at everyone for telling me happy birthday, haha. So I go into bed, and there is a cake there from Karly!! It was the best thing I've ever crawled into bed to, haha. So I was uber happy and put it in my mini fridge to save it. I went to bed then got up at 7 (yuck) for public speaking. I got a lot of happy birthday's along the way, and in my class. I got called a youngin' because I was only turning 18, ha. So I went back to my room and read a bunch of facebook/MySpace comments, yayyyy. Then to chapel which sadly wasn't too great today. Afterwards back to my room to chill for a while, but then I went out to lunch with Lorin (my small group leader). That was so much fun. We got a ride from one of her friends to her apartment, where we made a DELICIOUS salad (Cranberries, pears, Feta cheese and almonds), toasted mini pita breads to dip in hummus, and had a wonderful fruit plate. Afterwards we went to get dessert at this french bakery by Vons, we had a bannana cream cake, yum! So then I got back and was chilling around. I talked to Kellie before she left for the RA retreat, then hung out with Jenna doing the indo board (well, I was). I told Mark happy birthday (Birthday buddies!!) and had a chill time, however I did fall off the indo board and scrape my knee, haha. I also talked to my family, Austin, and Cayla! That was nice! So I was hanging around, going to go clubbing, but then some people couldn't go that night, but they all could go the next night, so we changed the day. Megan came back with Sarah and Sarah's twin Kelly, that was really cool to meet her, I wish I had a sister I could be that close with.. So we were all chilling and Megan and I were roaming, and realized that all the boys mattresses in 2A were missing, some girls stole them, haha. We ordered pizza, and hung out in the kitchen where Emily was baking me cookies!! yummm :). Afterwards I hung out in 2A where they were doing mattress sliding with all the mattresses they had gotten back. So the first time I did it I slid right off and scraped my elbow. The second time I got the mattress to move, but not very far :( oh well. I spent a long time singing Wicked, haha. I was then chilling upstairs when Vanessa came back and said she had something for me, and it was carrot cake!! (She picked it out because my hair is red, haha). So that was really sweet of her :D. We planned to go on the arches around 1, and I was really psyched about that. Then we went to the MPR and played games (Buck buck, chair tag, and hi ya) and Drew told me that no one was going tonight, they were all going the next night, so I was sad, but it turned out that people DID go on Friday night, but oh well. So after closed hours Hannah, Heather and I watched "Bride and Prejudice" (Amazing movie!!!) But I left before the end because I was really tired.
So on Saturday I woke up early to go get the package Cayla sent me, which was amazing! I also was going to go get my dress hemmed, I thought that the shuttle came at 11, but it turned out 11:30, so I got bored of waiting and decided to not go, haha. I then went to lunch at the DC with Pheobe, which then turned into Becky and Megan, they had awesome cookies!! Afterwards we went back up to Page, Megan and I watched Veggie Tales for 15 minutes (yeah, we do that) then went on the shuttle to State, convincing Jake to come along the way. So it was really windy on Saturday and ash from the old fire was being picked up and filled the sky and was in the wind, it was pretty sucky because we would be walking and suddenly stuff would fly in our eyes and we would be blinding. Well, we spent a long time looking for Betty and Wilma costumes, the only ones we could find were 50 dollar ones, and the cheap ones we found were out of Wilma :(. So we decided to give up and just be a cat and mouse for Halloween instead. We also found Mark a green belt for his green suit, but could not find him a green hat sadly. So we headed back up on the shuttle, then hung around before going to the DC for dinner. That was cool because Megan and the Sarah's got me a really cute shirt (which I'm wearing now) and really nice smelling perfume (which I wore last night). We headed back to the dorms to get ready for clubbing! woot woot! haha. Well, I got ready really fast...so I just roamed the halls looking for things to do, and walked in on a group of guys watching "John Tucker Must Die", apparently they watched it twice, haha. So we spent a long time trying to convince Keith to come, but he didn't, but we did get Julia to come, so it ended up being John, Jake, Victoria, Emily, Becky, Sarah, Sarah, Kelly, Julia, Megan and me. Well when we got to the club, we realized it didn't open until 10, so we went to get Java Jones, we then returned to the EMPTY club (hahahahhahahaha) Where we danced for free untilt he bouncer came and took our monies. So even though I guess it was lame we were the only ones there, I LOVED IT! I danced like such a dork, hahaha, a good intro :) Friday night is the more popular night to go, so maybe next time, we are talking about renting a cab because with a bunch of people it doesn't cost that much. So I had a great time, returned to the dorm and was chilling for a while, when the power went out! (I was in the bathroom and extremely disoriented, haha) so it was fun talking in the dark, the power went on and off about five times during the night which meant that the iron curtain wasn't closed alot (electronic lock) but that's ok because the boys were doing nude slip 'n' slide (I know, ew) so I didn't want to see that at ALL! I then watched the move "See Jane Date" (It was on ABC Family a while ago) with Hanna and Jossy which was a lot of fun. So I went to bed around three and woke up today around 9 to go to church, but I think that the time was off on the DC clock or something because there was never a car there from the Free Methodist Church! I was extremely bummed... so here I am writing this. I may go to reality later on.... but we'll see. All in all, it was an awesome birthday weekend!! Yay!
