How those feathered boys love to flaunt their tails

I went to Downing College today in Cambridge... Wow! I want to go there. I actually think that I want to go to Cambridge over Oxford even though I can't do joint honours. Mum keeps hinting that I should go to Oxford but at the same time keeps going on about the fact that it's my decision. She's been really odd over the last couple of days... hyper critical about everything, having a really short temper with me. I'm not quite sure what it is that I've done... perhaps she just wants me to tidy my room.

Anyway Downing. All the buildings have a neo-classical style so there are colums and arches everywhere. Almost everyone that I spoke to wanted to do Natural Sciences so I ended up having a mini arguement with some boys about why humanities are better than sciences. Everybody is so clever... I mean I'm not stupid but everyone had amazing results. There was one other boy who wanted to do Classics and he got 9 A* at GCSE and 7 A's at AS. I mean who does 7 AS levels? And he took one AS in Greek, which he taught himself... show off... However the one remdeming feature is that I was better at talking than he was... yay!

We had a meeting with the guy in charge of Classics. His office was so funny. When we got to the door he was playing loud jazz music. When we went in, there were books everywhere- all over the floor and the chairs. He had to start shifting piles to make space to sit down. What a guy... he was great.

So now I have the unquestionable delight of applying against all the people who got straight A*s... damn them...
