The perils of Idaho driving

As I was driving to work this morning, I hit an animal.  The animal was already dead, but it was still traumatic.  Talk about hitting something while it's already down.  I couldn't tell what kind of animal it was, but obviously it wasn't very smart running into four lanes of traffic.  Still, the indignity of being run over after already meeting such an ugly death just made me feel really bad for it.

The really bad part?  I wasn't in my 4Runner.  I was in the commuter car which is a Honda Civic.  What would have barely felt like a bump in my 4Runner felt like a humongous speed bump in the car.  I still shudder to think of it.

More uplifting news, I'm registering for my first race today.  It's a St. Patrick's day run.  As I was typing this, I was looking at the date, which is 3/16.  Maybe I'm crazy because that's going to be a crazy busy weekend.  We're leaving for Hawaii on March 20th, the day after Cheeks' 6th birthday (EEEEKKKK!!!!).  We're having her birthday party on the 15th, I'll do the race on the 16th, then I need to pack myself for Hawaii and the kids for my mom's.

I think I'm crazy.  Or I will be when I attempt to do all that.
