(no subject)
This has been an interesting weekend. By some miracle, I wasn't rostered on to work on Saturday, so I got to spend all that time with Jason. We went to Fremantle and he bought some boardies and I got a pair of black lace boots from Into Camelot. We also went into the Pickled Fairy because that's an awesome store, plus it smells nice and has Sean Bean's sword from LOTR that Jason wants. When we were there, I saw Vanessa Raspa working as a fairy! She's so awesome, we did music theatre together at Stage Door and now she's starting her third year at WAAPA. Interestingly, Jason and I appeared in today's STM from when we were at Seussical and they also had a photo of Chrystal de Grussa, another Stage Door student, at the same event. Blast from the past!
Also, an interesting update or two on the cast of the Sweeney Todd movie Tim Burton is doing. Jason and I were discussing it and the following conversation ensued:
Me: "I don't know, I guess I'm not as excited about it as you are."
Jason: "What if Alan Rickman was in it?"
Me: "Who would he be?"
Jason: "The Judge."
Me: "That would be really, really strange."
Jason: "Well, they've cast him!"
Me: "WHAT?!?!?!"
I went to IMDb to check out the cast list and sure enough, there was his name. And just below it, as Lucy Barker, was... Laura Michelle Kelly.
LAURA MICHELLE KELLY IS GOING TO BE IN SWEENEY TODD!
Who's Laura Michelle Kelly? She won the Olivier award for best actress a couple of years ago when she originated the role of Mary Poppins on the West End. She's all kinds of awesome.
So Sweeney Todd is going to be quite... interesting.
