Eat, drink, and be merry!
Hello again everybody! You'll hafta excuse any typos you might see because I'm packed to the gills with holiday cheer.
Soused on apple martinis (2 parts sour apple syrup, one part Absolut, naturally... or was it three parts syrup? Who knows?). I'm turning into a regular Dean Martin. Next thing you konow, I'll be singing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer karaoke-style, cuz if there was one guy who knew something about red noses, it was good ol' Dean, God rest his soul (Well God rest his soul if he's dead. Maybe someone can check for me that he is, in fact, deceased).
So yeah, jsut wanted to give all 3 people who read my LJ a resounding Merry Christmahanukkwanzaakah to you! Yes, I know it's an advertising slogan, but for God's sake, it's a brilliant one. Hell, humans are materialistic creatures and this holiday has always celebrated that, even back when everyone worshipped the birth of Mithras at this time of the year, and if I was in better shape I could explain about all that at length, so there's no use getting bent out of shape over it.
So for all my religious and non-religious friends alike, lemme remind you that the Christians weren't the only ones who put a holiday here. We just passed the Winter Solstice; the time of the year where the sun is farthest away from the Earth. For thousands of years, countless peoples and tribes found this the best time to have a great feast, because now, in the dead of winter, it's all uphill from here (that is to say: now starts the countdown to summer).
So do what the Christians and druids do alike this week: eat, drink, and be merry! I can tell you with certainty that I sure have!

Anthony, Bob, and Alexis; I KNOW you guys read my LJ, so you guys especially get affection. But to all the rest of you guys who may have found their way in, I love all of you. Hell, I love everyone right now. w00t! I'm off to do some well-needed skanking. It'll help burn off the holiday feast.
