The History of Psychology

After much careful consideration, it appears that the slow forward progress of psychology, with its competing views and schools gaining favour at one time and being cast aside at another, most resembles the drunken stagger of a barfly's final journey of the night; the slow back and forth dance that pinballs his awkward form down the spinning hallway and through his apartment door.

Modern neuropsychology is the apartment door. Are we still too drunk to find the key?
