Plea

You lay in silence
The silence becomes a buzzing, and then a pulse behind your bleary eyes
In just a moment that silence will be yours again
But it's a game you play only to lose
And sometimes you'd rather sleep the whole day through,
Knowing it's better than being late

The pulse is persistent,
And white rays tear back the dark envelope you've sealed yourself inside
You choke down a coffee,
But it's become a bitter sludge cooled by the passing of time
It's too late for breakfast, too late for class
Too late now for any kind of day except your last

Still, you find yourself in the daylight
If only to watch the sun fall slowly from the sky
Life's lost it's flavour
It's a saddening, maddening way to die

But why end here,
Why end it all with a sigh?
It's such a frustratingly unnatural way to die
We're all doomed to join you,
but stay now and we'll find something to do to pass the time

Let's live together (We all die alone)
Let's live today (Why live alone?)
Let's live

No, don't let it end it here
Don't give up the fight
It can be a vicious and cruel beast, but it's still your life
And it's all that we're given,
And it's open to change
It's full of poetry and beauty
And I'll show you, if you just let me find a way

Choose life
Please love, choose life
Choose life
