Which is to say that I finally have some schedule for when I'll be finished this blasted thing. Specifically, November 1st (2008), with the defense to be sometime in December.
That's a little bit later than I had hoped, but it meets with Dr. Incomprehensible's blessing! Which is no small matter.
To celebrate, I went out and blew a couple grand on a new laptop. The Windows, it be deleting, and the Linux, she be installing as I write this.
Man, laptops come with all kinds of bells and whistles nowadays. I spent a good couple minutes, pulling component after component out of the box. Chamoix? Headphones? External subwoofers!? Remote controls?!?? Uhh, okay. I guess.
This probably means that I will be visiting neither Japan nor Brazil in February (the funds for this laptop having come from my savings for that vacation). Ah well, I've been lusting after a new laptop for longer.
