And I can just hear the cheers from all of the like what, four people who read this?! Hehe! Well....I know it's been a looooong time since I've updated, so obviously I won't be able to go into too much detail on what's been happening, cuz I'd need a day to write it out!! Summer has gone by sooo fast so far! The two biggest things that have happened this summer so far are obviously Tidal Impact 2006 and Ashram 2006. For Tidal Impact, we have 2-0+ teens from Marysville Baptist come down and join our 20+ teens for a week of missions, Vacation Bible Camp (where Ignition rocked the church for the kids!!), awesome nightly rallies with the Jeff Somers Band and Fred Lynch doing some freestyle rapping. It was a good week in many ways to renew friendships from 2004, to make new ones, and to reach out to the hurting world around us. Some of the highlights were being billets for the first time and having Brittney and Jasmine make their really strange movies, watching Krystal and Mike keep getting revenge on one another, Sarah's daily Powerpoint cartoons, the huge water balloon fight with the kids, and the roadtrip out to Kentville. Now Jen and I will try to take people from Timberlea up to see Marysville people each time we go up to visit people in Keswick. The people from Marysville left on the Saturday morning, and then Jen and I packed up and headed to Berwick, NS for my 15th Ashram and her 2nd. We stayed in a much better room this time, and had an awesome week. Where Tidal Impact was all about reaching out to the area around us with God's love, Ashram is a retreat from the world to focus on our own relationship with God. It was an awesome week, with highlights being Stephen Fenton's messages on coming down off of the mountain, the healing service, the youth praise night, and the trips to the beach :D I also had the unique opportunity to partner with Mike Ashfield (who I grew up with at Ashram) to be able to pray for people in the healing service. It was amazing to hear people's stories of hurt and brokenness and see God be able to use us as conduits to help those who came to us. Even cooler still was when we tried to pray for them and had absolutely no idea what to pray for, and then these words came to us that totally like floored the person and really meant a lot to them! It was totally God speaking through us and was totally amazing, although really tiring! They also announced a youth missinos trip to the Thailand YWAM base next summer too, so now I'm praying to see if I'm supposed to go on that as a leader or not. Jen and I got back from Ashram, crashed for a week, and then headed up last weekend to visit people in NB. We saw everyone in Keswick and Marysville (missed Kilee and Morgan though :(). So now we're back for a bit. We had the youth photo scavenger hunt last night, and it was a scream to be in. I can't wait to get the pics back from it! In other news, I've been renewed here at NRC yet again, so I'm now here til the last week of November, and they're now getting a longer term position created, so I have a shot at that. Also, I've taken a big step of faith and put together my application for Acadia Divnity College to get my Masters of Divinity in Youth Ministry (I love that title cuz it sounds like I've mastered divinity :P). I'll be taking one course a semester for now, just to get started on it. It's church history til the reformation this fall, and then after the reformation til now in the winter. Pray for me, cuz this is a big step and I'm not sure where it will lead. Anyways, I think that's about all for now. I'll end with the lyrics from one of my new fave bands called Red. The song is called Breathe Into Me:
And this is how it feels
When I ignore the words You spoke to me
And this is where I lose myself
When I keep running away from You
And this is who I am
When I don't know myself anymore
And this is what I choose
When it's all left up to me
Breathe Your life into me
I can feel You
I'm falling, falling faster
Breathe Your life into me
I still need You
I'm falling, falling
Breathe into me
And this is how it looks
When I am standing on the edge
And this is how I break apart
When I finally hit the ground
And this is how it hurts
When I pretend I don't feel any pain
And this is how I disappear
When I throw myself away
