I bought a house today
Those of you not in the know (because I haven't updated this in two months, hi!), I have been looking for a house since the beginning of the new year. As of this evening, after a couple weeks of negotiating and frustration, I have laid down earnest money on a house in Hoffman Estates.
Still subject to lender issues, title transfer issues, and passing a home inspection and all that... but assuming everything goes as planned, come mid-March I will have a new address:

Needless to say, the interior decor wouldn't be my first choice if I had a blank slate. No ideas yet on how to either work with it or just start over.
Otherwise, life is great. About one month to go until my job moves downtown...
