Various updates!
- A few weeks ago I took two scholarship tests at Kalamazoo College, for English and photography (an essay and a portfolio review, respectively). I won a scholarship for the photography, which made me pretty proud on its own. But later, I spoke with my admissions counselor, who told me that I also had the highest score out of the whole group on the essay (surprising, considering my so-so work on impromptu essays so far)...the catch is that they can only award one scholarship per student, and they give out the fine arts rewards first. I am very proud anyway.
- U of M is now tied with Kalamazoo for my top colleges of choice, thanks to Campus Day a while ago. Anyone wanna go to Ann Arbor one of these days?
- Yesterday I bought some new pyjama pants at Target. They're very comfy, and they have pictures of Guinness bottles on them as well as the old-timey guy from the commercials saying "Brilliant!"
- I wrote a letter to Stephen King, so I could get an interview for Creative Writing II. Wish me luck - who knows if he's got the time to respond to fan mail?
- I've been working a little more lately, but my money still seems to be disappearing at the same rate. Hmmm...
- Can someone loan me $1300?
- I've contacted a guy whose card I picked up at the Ren Faire about a custom-made kilt. In the e-mail, he said he could answer my several questions, but he'd rather do it over the phone. For some reason, I freaked out. I haven't answered the e-mail or given him a phone number, and that was a month ago. I'm probably being unreasonable, since most normal businesses would have me do stuff over the phone. Oh well.
- Ashlie's party was great fun. While I was there, Mark and Matt covered two of my house's trees with toilet paper. They did a DAMN good job of it too!
- I've been playing with a knock-off Zippo I bought a while ago. It's disturbingly entertaining.
