Yeah. I need to find JRR and tell him to get War in the Pocket just so I can basically shit on it. I'm told it's not as good as the others and Tomino basically needed the cash.
But I could be proven wrong! Maybe it is totally fucking awesome and will rock my face off! Who knows??? But yeah, if JRR provides me with the movie, I will sit down and watch it with him and then I will recap the story in prepubescent teen all caps mode or something.
That's as good as one movie written by Tomino, only with more quivering lips, slapping, moaning, bitching, killing, and convoluted bullshit than anything else he's written, including the remake of Zeta. Which, by the way, redacts some character history and events and replaces it with new bullshit because he wrote other stuff that conflicts with what he wrote earlier.
Yay!
Generally, after the first series and Zeta and CCA (maybe ZZ but I haven't sat down to watch it?) I think Tomino went off his fucking rocker and blew all his money on hookers and blow and may be in need of more cash - ergo time to milk the dry, parched, and chapped nipples on the sway-titted Menonite cow that is Mobile Suit Gundam: Limitless Franchise Century.
ZZ starts off almost slapstick, but gets pretty good towards the end. I'm not a huge fan of some of the characters or the ZZ mech design, but as a series, it's alright. You can probably sum it up with this: "Captain Bright! There's some kid trying to steal our newest bestest Gundam, the Double Zeta!" "Let him! I bet he's a newtype and will totally kick ass for us!" "Uh... you know we have a budget, right?"
Oh also: So far Igloo is really good, too. It's about great Zeon engineering failures! That is great! And the stories have thus far been well told.
Haven't watched 0083, F-91 or 08th MS Squad yet, but those should polish off the UC for me such that I can approach the horror that is G Gundam and then reward myself with Super Bishy Gundam Wing.
Anyone that says War in the Pocket (0080) isn't that good is a liar who is lying. It was actually *very* good and I recommend it. Plus, it's short, so you can put it away in an evening.
It's probably not face-rocking awesome, but it is a good story told in the UC universe.
