Stupid computer. So I wipe ONE partition on ONE drive, install windows (couldn't find my normal disc, used original without any SP which I forgot can't read drives over 128gigs which may have started the problems). One of the other partitions dissapears (nothing too important but a 10-15 gigs of stuff I would like to still have) and then my second HD which is my music only drive isn't recognized as having any file system so its inacessable. Format the partition that dissapeared, end up getting a fatal error in windows, reinstall once. Reallize the SP problem, download xp with sp3 (not technically sp3 but sp2 plus a bunch of other windows updates all slipstreamed in). Install windows again this time with SP's and zomg theres the partition that dissapeared, unformated, with all the information that was previously on it and none of the information from when i formated it and stuck a few things on it. weird... but still no recognition of the second hd with all my music.
Now I have 27 dvds of my music collection backed up, but theres still like 30-40 gigs of unsorted music that I hadn't backed up yet from downloads since winter break. So now im forced to try a bunch of slow programs to get the files back so I dont lose all my music. Ill probably end up just copying over the unsorted and then having to load the 27 dvds of music back on to my computer one dvd at a time which will be slow as fuck.
In ADDITION i get to reinstall windows again. First thing I do last night is get the internet up and running, but Im getting ready for bed and the internet is crapping out, probably cuz it was stormy. So there is a klite codec pack on this xp compilation so I decide to install that so I can watch scrubs since it can't auto-download the codec with the internet down. Well I install that and load up WMP and TERRORDEATHDESTRUCTION anytime i load a video the computer uses 100% processing and basically freezes up, with a 15 second delay i can get task manager open and slowly end process and get things back to normal. I uninstall the codec pack but it says some stuff can't be uninstalled, i try installing divx/xvid normally and getting my favorite video player VLC downloaded today when internet is back up, but my pc still shits bricks whenever I try and play any video. Im curious if my video driver has anything to do with it. I got the latest nvidia ones, but I have found in the past that using the most current ones isn't always best, since my card is a bit older and the updates usually contain things that alter for newer cards.
I NEED A MOTHERFUCKING JOB
I can't believe theres a week till september. I got cs2 and dreamweaver 8 up and running so I can throw together a new personal website in the next day or two. Trying to find jobs to apply to, found a couple today, but so many want multiple years of experience and really there isn't a whole lot of listings around now. Going to target/kmart tomorrow for sure, i need fucking rent money.
Electric bill was like 120 this month, so were cutting back on A/C, so im too warm, but at least it isn't as bad as my little basement studio was.
I can make no progress till I get a job, I can't really go out, I can't relax, nothing. I just sit around here searching job sites and having no luck. Blah.
At least the week up till sunday morning was good, will hold me over for a bit of this stressful period.
