Room 514, Wednesday morning

Jul 23, 2008 12:09

After having to deal with his drunk roommate yesterday, Rodney definitely felt like he deserved a good rest. Thus, he was still sleeping peacefully and remained, for the moment, blissfully unaware of the terror surrounding him.

[OOC: Door is closed, post is open... especially for the roomie and the Fruit of Death!]

teyla, my personal slave, 514, i'm gonna die!, john, sokka

As Teyla headed to work, she swore she heard yelling coming from one of the rooms. She knew she would regret it later if she ignored her instincts, so she went ahead and knocked on the door.

"Haven't enough people come to mock me already today?" Rodney bitched as he yanked open the door only to stop suddenly at the sight of the vaguely familiar girl. "Oh, um, hello?"

"Hello," Teyla said, smiling softly at him. "I assure you, I have not come to mock you. I apologize if that is a disappointment. I heard yelling, and I wanted to see if everyone is all right."

"Oh, no, no disappointment at all. I promise," he returned the smile slightly. "The yelling was all because this island seems to be trying to kill me by surrounding me with the very thing that could cause my instantaneous death," he glared at the fruit in the hall.

"Instantaneous death?" Teyla repeated, following his glance. "By fruit?"

"I'm allergic to citrus," he explained. "So, yes. You can laugh if you want but it's a serious condition," he added defensively.

"I will not laugh, I promise," Teyla said, kicking a piece of fruit away from the door. "I doubt that the island is out to get you though. I am certain that if it wanted you dead, it would be neither subtle, nor slow."

"Well, good," he nodded. "You know that's not actually comforting, right?"

"I was hoping it would be comforting for the moment," Teyla said. "Surely you can touch the fruit? To get it away?"

"It's safer to use gloves, actually. I think we've gotten rid of most of them in here," he gestured towards the open window where he and Sokka had been tossing the fruit out. "As long as I stay put until they're gone, I should be okay."
