Haaaaaapy anaversery
Pat and I headed out to Corpus Christy to do a little trip to celebrate our marriage lasting 10 years so far. Pat got a bit thrown....well, minus the 'bit' part.
We decided to go to Mustang Island and ride the horses on the beach. It was NASTY outside...rain, thunder, you name it. The ride out was OK ('cept my stallion had to be group leader so I couldn't ride next to Pat, whose horse was taking its own sweet time) Then we hit the sand dunes where someone had left a blown around, upside down tent out in the dunes. It spooked the heck out of my horse, so he reared up and started running the other way. Soon one of the leads cane 'round and took away the tent, but by then my horse startling sent ALL the horses startling and a girl behind me got thrown, fallowed by another girl and finally Pat (whose saddle got put on crooked) took a tumble. He wasn't hurt badly, but has some nicks and bruises on one leg and arm.
I had been thinking about taking Mikey out sometime so he could try....but hell not now! He isn't riding untii it is at Turkey Creek where the hourses are WAAAAY more...whats the word?....calm? Then I had a BRIEF thought of never riding again, but I can't do that. I love it too much.
One of the girls that fell wasn't hurt at all, the other seemed to be limping a bit and was crying. I felt sorry for the poor kid. What a way to have your Vacation ruined.
On the fourth, our hotes was on the bay. You could see it from out window. Since there was rain the past couple of days they lifted the burn ban so the city was allowed to set fireworks off of the USS Lexington. So we got up and watched them....they are beautiful over the water like that.
This morning we actually headed out to do some swimming. The clouds were out again, but it just kept us from being burnt to a crisp. After that we headed out to the Texas State Aquarium. Pat got a t-shirt with sharks on it, with scientific name on it and other science facts, but we found one in Mikeys size, so we got daddy and son matching nerd t-shirts.
Mikey stayed at Moms on Thursday and Friday and accord to her was very good. I'm so proud of him:)
My eyes are starting to cross now cause I'm a bit sleepy. 'night all.
