Ahhh, an almost-clean slate to fill, how exciting. >=3 I have decided to dump all of my writings and ravings about cosplay in this blog, because my Tumblr is becoming quite confused at the moment, and I have decided that it really isn't the best blog to use for lengthy, wordy entries. So here we are, a journal focused on life as a cosplayer (which a good friend of mine jokingly refers to as my "secret life," as if it were some underground alternate-identity a-la-Hannah Montana, though my being a cosplayer is hardly a secret.. Although I do get that alternate-world feeling sometimes.)
I decided to keep the previous 2 entries (the one about Shizen Orchestra, and about our first cosplay shoot ever) for the obvious reason of being coherent to the blog's theme. A lot of time has passed since those entries, and I've definitely grown better at cosplaying and closer to the local community. =D But I digress; speaking of Soul Eater photoshoots, however, my friends and fellow Team-Orz-mates, Ina and Terry, had a casual Soul Eater cosplay shoot last weekend (a SoulxMaka pseudo-pairing shoot, to be more specific. XD)
This is one of my favorite shots from the set. You can
view the rest of the shots here or
watch the cosplay PV that we made to Kana Nishino's "Style." :D
Strangely, the day of the shoot began almost like our
first Soul Eater photoshoot. We originally planned to have it at Urdaneta Park, but we went there a little unplanned and ended up being disallowed by the guards to even enter the village although Urdaneta is connected/related to the village I live in. D: So we travelled allll the way to the Valle Verde 5 park to shoot there. By the time we arrived, there was nobody in the park-- BUT the sun had already positioned itself in a very unhelpful way (in terms of photography lighting), and it was also so hot that it was painful already. D= Looking back, I don't even know how we survived. :| IT MUST HAVE BEEN PASSION AND DETERMINATION THAT BROUGHT US THROUGH IT. NO, SERIOUSLY. D:< *Burns with the flame of passion*
YOU SEE? JUST LOOK AT THOSE PASSIONATE, DETERMINED FACES. AHHH SUBARASHII~ (Lol sorry I had a Death The Kid moment for a sec there) (Btw, I totally pilfered these pictures from
crayoneyeliner 's
LJ post.)
Our inspirations for the shoot included things like Korean soap operas, cheesy stationery, a whole bunch of Soul/Maka pictures from pixiv (lol), shoujo manga, and of course, the feel of the song "Style" by Kana Nishino (Soul Eater's 2nd ED.) We wanted the photos to have the same feel-good, summery and lightweight vibe in the video of SE's ending MV to this song, which is why we decided to use lots of elements like...

~*~*~COOKIES~*~*~
~*~*~UMBRELLAS~*~*~ (ELLA... ELLA... :|)
AND------ asdja;dsklfj WAIT NO NOT THIS ONE*cough*
... I'm sorry about that. I got a little carried away.
Nonetheless, the photos from the shoot were well-received and we're really glad that some people enjoyed looking at them or got kilig from them. ;u; Really, your feedback made us very happy and motivated! So thanks a bunch, guys. <3
Byebye, 'til the next entry! =D
