Cooking basics

I have learnt to make a list when shopping for ingredients.
Did the monthly shopping and guess what I forgot to take with? Anyway, made some guesses (educated or uneducated - take your pick) and came up with one major wrong one: evaporated milk!

When I got home found out I needed condensed milk. But I proceeded regardless...
Now I have a tub of toffee/psuedo-condensed milk and not fudge.

Oh well...now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with the sugary concoction that won't set after 2 days in the fridge. I suppose I could buy lots of vanilla ice cream and serve the toffee stuff on it. Or just eat it as is...can anyone spell "sugar rush"?
