O-M-G!
So as I've gotten older my nostrils have gotten a bit on the hairy side. Yeah - sad... but true. Now every so often I get a sore 'bump' in my nose, which feels a bit like a pimple - but I've always assumed they were ingrown hairs. Last week I got one and tried to fix it by plucking the nose hairs in the vicinity, hoping to get the offender (and, btw, OW!!). No luck. After a while it started to 'rise' towards the outside of my nose. At this point, I figured it was a pimple which just started so deep it felt like it was inside my nose. This seemed to be confirmed when it finally emerged on my nose and even got a little head.
By today it wasn't too sore and looked to be getting better. Tonight I started poking at it, thinking it might need a little pop. So I apply a little pressure and out pops a freaking hair!!! Long - a little less than 1/2 inch, sticking straight up, and looking like it had grown on the outside of my nose. Holy crap! At first I thought it was going to be a nightmare - but with very little effort it came completely out. Apparently it had been an ingrown hair all along, and it actually burrowed through my freaking nostril!
Strangest thing that has happened to me since that weird mutant half-tooth grew (and fell out) in roof of my mouth a few years back. Very much freaky.
