Pick five movies from the 1970's movies you think are worth watching. I had to limit it as there are SO many. Also post the criteria you use to select them.
My criteria. Something that bent, started or remade a genre.
Mad Max and The Omega Man defined post apocalyptic fiction. Alien and Jaws pretty much remade the 'things vs people' brand of horror. Blazings Saddles defies me but I consider it to have created a genre even if it only includes itself, remade to some extend both comedies and westerns.
