So I've been meaning to say this for a while...
But I haven't really gotten around to it. I know, it's a bit of a taboo viewpoint, but...
Fuck the troops.
They signed up to kill and they signed up to die. Don't give me any of that patriotism bullshit, because standing up for the concept of your country or whatever the fuck is not a fucking excuse to take another human life. Sure, I'd like to see them have adequate body armor, adequate weapons systems, adequate means of survival. But once we start sacrificing funds that could be used to, say, socialize medicine and save lives, I have a real hard time having much sympathy for professional killers.
