Today I went to Wallace, crashed my van, and received the keys to my new house. The last bit of news being by far the most exciting, and the middle bit being only very alarming but also amazing.
I was driving back from beautiful Wallace, ID when it happened. A construction cone had been knocked over, and I thought I could make it around it without any problems, but I was wrong. I drifted too far and managed to fly off the interstate and down the hill at 65mph. The hill was very steep and about 40 ft. down. I still can't believe my van didn't roll over. I did make the split decision to quickly turn my van vertically downwards instead of flying diagnolly down the hill, or I'm sure it would've rolled. It very nearly did. Once at the bottom of the hill I caught my breath, got out, and looked over my vehicle. There were some minor scrapes on the side from a tree I ran over and the steering was a little off as are the breaks, but it was still running fine. I tried to drive back up the hill but found this impossible. I had to drive across rough terrain, literally drive over a fence, and through a field with no road in site for almost 2 miles. I'm amazed my little van made it that far across ground that had never been drive on before. It did finally make it, however, and I finally found a dirt road which eventually brought me back to the interstate. Quite the adventure if I do say so, and I'm positive the good Lord sent an extra guardian angel to watch over me today.
When I finally returned, I picked up the keys to my new house and took over my first load of stuff. The yard hasn't been mowed in weeks and is desperately in need of some TLC, however, I'm very excited to be moving in. Yehaww!
